What are you doing on April 15?

Probably paying your taxes, right?

Well, I’ll be running in the Boston Marathon!

Isn’t that crazy!? I seriously can’t believe it. (Oh. And I have an Instagram account for my fitness endeavors now, if you can’t tell.)

You’re probably wondering how I qualified for the Boston Marathon. Well, that happened back in June in Duluth, Minnesota at Grandma’s Marathon. I never thought I’d run a marathon – yet, there I was on the starting line staring down 26.2 miles of one road. (Yes. One road. The drive from the shopping mall where we picked up the bus to the start felt like it lasted four years.)

My 12-week training cycle went incredibly well and the next thing I knew, I was working my way from Two Harbors to Duluth, Minnesota. Turns out I’m not too bad at marathons. Crossed the finish line in 2:48:37 and BQ’d by nearly 17 minutes.
